The education that prepares the 'examinees' still keeps the learners under the burden of textbooks. The minimum expectation is that education should be easy to understand and that teachers should be able to teach easily with simple tools. Experimental educationist Lilatai Patil has been imparting this unique education since 1985! Even after his demise, the rich, flourishing spread of blissful education at 'Srijan Anand Vidyalaya' in Kolhapur will not go unnoticed.
Lilatai or the novelist no. C. Phadke's daughter. Born on 28th May 1927 in Pune. There b. Ed. Were done. Participated in the freedom struggle of 1942 as a student, remained active in social work from 'Rashtra Seva Dal'. She married Bapu Saheb Patil, a Dalit friend from Kolhapur. Their son died in an accident in 1973 while their life was going on happily. Dhirodatta Tai was somewhat distracted. But he made up his mind and chose education as his field of work.
After working in the College of Education for 28 years, after retiring as principal, he started a new education beyond the governmental framework in 1985. He established 'Srijan Anand Vidyalaya' to make education creative and enjoyable with the help of 'Antarbharati' by Sane Guruji. This work started with the post-retirement 'fund' and prize money. This entrepreneurship was warmly welcomed in the field of education. Gurudeva became an active follower of Rabindranath Tagore in the next generation. He emphasized on teaching students in a way that would make them understand. Writing many books based on these experiences became a beacon in creative learning. There were two different aspects of Lilatai's temperament. His image was that of medical rationalism, rigor, and extreme discipline; But while teaching in 'Sruavi', his mother's heart was awakened. He had developed the art of simplifying the subject. He inspired students to make 60 kinds of things from simple handkerchiefs, this is an example! A list of hundreds of such entrepreneurial examples can be seen in his organization. At a time when the idea of experimental education in education did not reach Maharashtra, he started experimenting with BJ. She later sprouted from many educational institutions.
At the same time, she continued to work in many different social service organizations in Kolhapur. He also inspired the 'Life Education School' in the Narmada Valley. Since 'learning through experience' is a mystery, the school had taken a trip directly to the cemetery to allay the fears of the children. When Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister, Lilatai discussed education policy with him. But his experimentation was thwarted by the bureaucracy.
This experience teaches us why our education revolves around the same circle. Although Lilatai is no longer alive, Prakash underscores the need to increase his propensity to explore creation.
