Kamal Shedge
Maqbool Fida Hussain, S. H. There is a similarity between Kamal Shedge, the painter who created the modern history of Indian art through the 'Progressive Artists Group', Raza, Sadanand Bakre, etc.: First seen! Kamal Shedge also made history; But as a letter writer. By experimenting with Devanagari calligraphy and typography in Maharashtra, Shedge made Marathi people aware of the beauty of letters and 'sangtepana'.
There were different shapes of letters in Marathi even before Shedge. The letters of Dinanath Dalal, who is the masthead of 'Lok Satta', or the prasadik of Raghuveer Mulgaonkar - as if descending from the temple - testify to this. But in the case of Devanagari characters, it was said by Kamal Shedge that 'artists who make history reach great heights by riding on the opportunities of their time'. Learned in the applied arts department of 'JJ College of Arts'. Joshi is a contemporary of Shedge, a well-known calligrapher and later a calligrapher who made the font of 'Mangal' which is widely used on computers today. On the other hand, Kamal Shedge did not go to art school, his father was also an 'artist' in newspapers and magazines, so he got to learn a lot from him and did not enjoy computer at all. Working - constantly, wholeheartedly, thoughtfully - was the mantra of Shedge's success. Although exhibitions of his calligraphy have been frequent since 1979, he was not merely working for these exhibitions. He worked for the newspaper, occasionally for Hindi-English magazines in the same newspaper group, for the Diwali issue, and most importantly for the advertisement of hundreds of plays. All this work is of an applied nature. The late playwright Mohan Wagh, who faithfully gave them advertisements for the play - and later did advertisements for at least 80 plays from Shedgen - may also have been used as a visual thinker. But Shedge, who was the basis of many theatrical organizations, was well versed in the alphabet. There was a firm understanding that the meaning of the written word was to be conveyed through the letter.
Kamal Shedge passed away and these letters remained .. Shedge also gave the form of personification to 'Vapu' and 'Lata'. Shedge will now be forever remembered for his Marathi / Hindi plays / films and for his three books in the form of 'Shubhamangal Savdhan' and 'Nagmandal'!
